hello everyone! marisa here... owner, designer and head weirdo of seaworthy. i have been designing jewelry under the name seaworthy for nine years and i rarely put my own face in front of the camera. perhaps i hoped that the work would speak for me? that the unique shapes and way that we create would tell you all that you need to know about who i am as a designer and who we are as a company. but, there is so much more to seaworthy than just the final pieces that you see. the process that goes into every design that we create (swipe through to see some of the process, photos by mikola accuardi ) it is a labor of love, learned over years of practice, trial and error (a lot of error) and constantly in flux (jewelry pun...der!). in addition, we are constantly researching and modifying our supply chain, talking with suppliers, brainstorming and improving. our production is nearly waste free at this point and nearly all processes (except for production casting and cutting) are done in house. this is important because we want to be thoughtful about how things are made but also because the seaworthy staff deserves the opportunity to learn as much as they want to, to grow and be challenged as jewelers. each decision is made with careful consideration of the overall sustainability of seaworthy as a whole, including my own health & sanity (that part took me a long time). making jewelry and metal objects means we are making pieces that will be forever linked to special moments and memories, items that will be loved and passed down, worn for generations. we consider this a privilege, that’s why everything that leaves our studio is made to last in a thoughtful way. it isn't the easy way but it feels right to us. thank you for supporting what we do and giving us the opportunity to keep doing it. shop small, it’s a simple shift with big impact. 20% off ends tomorrow, shopsmall20
